The BBC reports of the events were deliberately distorted.Miners on strike were subject to an organised physical attack by the “forces of law and order”.  Attempts to convict miners on false criminal charges subsequently collapsed. Why did this happen and why does it still matter?  Why is the current Tory Government preventing a public inquiry being held?  What is it seeking to hide?  What should be the response of the Labour Movement?
