South Yorkshire Police officer charged with unlawful and malicious wounding of 16-year-old football fan 

On Saturday, February 8 2020 a young Sheffield Wednesday football fan suffered a severe head injury after allegedly being attacked with a police baton after a match in Barnsley. The world has been made very aware of the many incidents of police brutality over the last months, prompting mass opposition and demonstrations all over the world. The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign is therefore pleased to learn that the Independent Office for Police Conduct has completed an investigation and referred evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service, who have made the decision to charge the police officer. We send our support and best wishes to the young fan who was so viciously attacked.  #orgreavejustice
