’The Battle of Orgreave’ Screening

The South Heaton Labour Party branch in Newcastle are screening the Mike Figgis / Jeremy Deller film ’The Battle of Orgreave’ on Thursday 21st September.

The event is a branch fundraiser and public education event, and they’re planning to have an audience discussion after the screening about the political impact of the Miners’ Strike and ongoing truth and justice campaigns (especially Orgreave). So far the local Labour MP Nick Brown and Alan Cummings from Durham Miners Association will be involved in the discussion event, and hopefully a local representative of Women Against Pit Closures.
