Jason Shipley is a professional social documentary photographer based in Hull who started a self funded Miners photography project a few months ago with the help of Simon Cahill from Selby. Jason has now brought photographer David Drasdo on board and they are doing this as a joint project. Jason and David have been talking to miners from various pits and miners who where at Orgreave. They are doing a large photographic documentary hoping to get more miners involved to get the stories and photos of them for a large touring exhibition. The project aims to show what the Miners went through and what they are doing today in 2019. The people Jason and David have met so far have given them such a great welcome and help. Jason says it has been incredible and thanks every one of the miners they have spoken with to date. They hope to speak to more miners in the next few months.
