Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign – Motion debated at Rotherham MB Council 8/3/17
Please view the link below, item 15 on right hand side will take you straight to the motion and debate about the events at the Orgreave Coking Plant, 18/6/84 and Amber Rudd’s disgraceful decision not to have any type of investigation into the police violence and actions on the day.
The Coking plant was on the boundaries of Sheffield and Rotherham and is emotionally and geographically very meaningful to people in the area. The Council debate is emotional, raw, respectful and forces many councillors to their feet to support the motion to talk about what many of them saw who were there that day. Some things that some of them describe are beyond belief and something they have not spoken about for many years. The motion was passed and the campaign hopes to be able to organise a photo call with the Rotherham councillors very shortly.
