Danish media release

Monday 13.3. 1700 at Enhedslisten Party office in Copenhagen David Etherington will give a talk on the Orgreave campaign. At the same time the OTJC will hold a demonstration in London demanding a independent public Inquiry. See the OTJC press release below.

At the end of 2016 the British Government refused to grant an independent public Inquiry into the events at Orgreave. It was the biggest confrontation between the police and Miners during the 1984-85 strike. The police employed pre planned military style tactics, drawn up and directed by the Government in their violent attack on the Miners. The media narrative involved blaming the Miners for initiating the confrontation. Now, 32 years later, the events at Orgreave have never had been brought into the public arena nor have the police been held accountable for their actions. The Orgreave campaign comes to Denmark requesting support and solidarity from the Danish people for their campaign.
