Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign Anniversary Rally Saturday 16th June No Justice, No Peace
The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign (OTJC) is continuing its call for the Conservative Government to implement a public inquiry into the organised brutal attacks by the police on Miners at the Orgreave Coking plant on 18th June 1984. We need to put an end to the injustice experienced by Miners and their communities over the last 34 years.
Supporters are encouraged to bring along banners, placards, drums, whistles, friends and family! We will continue to show the Government we will not be silenced! Led by the Unite Brass Band we will march through Orgreave.
The OTJC Anniversary march and rally will take place this year on Saturday 16th June at Orgreave Lane, Sheffield S13 9NE at 1:00pm with a number of high profile speakers and supporters including:

“Ex-Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, had an opportunity to authorise an inquiry and chose not to. The new Home Secretary, Sajid Javid, should now have the decency to acknowledge Amber Rudd’s miscalculation and implement an inquiry that is well overdue”
Chair of the OTJC, Chris Hockney said:
“Striking Miners were brutalised by the police all over Britain. The announcement in the Scottish Parliament last week and the move from the Welsh Assembly this week gives us real hope that an inquiry will be conducted into police brutality at Orgreave and the Miners and our communities will get justice. The Labour Party is committed to implementing an inquiry and has clearly stated in their manifesto their intention to hold a public inquiry into policing practices at Orgreave”
