NATIONAL WOMEN AGAINST PIT CLOSURES 40th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Plans are currently being made to commemorate and celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 1984/5 Miners’ Strike.

A group of women who were active in Women Against Pit Closures and the Miners’ Strike have recently formed a National Women Against Pit Closures 40th Anniversary group. The group are meeting to organise a national day of events in Durham on Saturday 2nd March 2024 to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the magnificent role of women in the Strike and the powerful and essential part they played in supporting and sustaining the strike.
