Legal Submission Hand Over – acknowledgement

19 January 2016

Dear Barbara,
Thank you for your email of 14 December in which you attached a submission on behalf of the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign on the need for an inquiry relating to events at the Orgreave Coking Plant on 18 June 1984. I also acknowledge receipt of a paper copy of this submission which was delivered to me by your colleague Ms Peace on 15 December.
Home Office officials have undertaken an initial review of the submission and, given the extensive and detailed issues raised in it, I am sure you will appreciate the need for us to conduct a thorough analysis of the arguments it contained. The Home Secretary will therefore provide a fuller response in due course, setting out the Government’s position.
Alastair Whitehead
Deputy Principal Private Secretary to the Home Secretary

I attempted to take part in the IPCC investigation , like thousands of my colleagues our input was not wanted the IPCC decided to ur=se Police Officers to interview Police Officers involved in this incide and nt anbd I believe there should be a full Public Inquiry into why we were ignored.
